DJ Tdot Weddings

Terms & Conditions

Last updated August 22, 2026

These terms cover DJ and MC services booked with DJ Tdot Weddings (“Tdot”, “we”). By booking, you (“the client”) agree to them. They are written in plain language on purpose — if anything is unclear, just ask before you sign.

Bookings and your date

A date is held once we have a signed booking agreement and the booking deposit. Until then dates stay open and are offered first come, first served. We never double-book a date: once yours is confirmed, it is yours.

Payments

The deposit is applied to your total. The remaining balance is due before the wedding on the date set out in your agreement (normally two weeks prior). Prices are quoted in Canadian dollars and applicable taxes are added where required. Travel outside the Ottawa area may carry a travel fee, which is always agreed in advance.

Changes, rescheduling and cancellations

Life happens. If you need to move your date, tell us as early as possible — when we are available on the new date, we transfer your booking once at no charge.

Cancellations must be made in writing. Because the deposit holds your date and turns away other couples, it is non-refundable. Any payments beyond the deposit are refunded on the schedule set out in your agreement.

What we provide

Professional, concert-grade sound sized to your venue, wireless microphones for vows, speeches and toasts, dance floor lighting where it is included in your package, and a DJ and MC who arrives early, sets up discreetly and stays until the agreed end time. Our equipment is maintained and insured, and we always carry backups of the essentials.

What we need from you

Access to the venue at least two hours before guests arrive; a standard grounded power outlet within reach of the DJ area; a level, covered space protected from sun and weather for outdoor events; and a point of contact (planner, coordinator or a trusted friend) on the day. For events longer than five hours a vendor meal is much appreciated.

Music and requests

You shape the soundtrack: must-plays, do-not-plays and the moments that matter most. On the night we read the room and use our judgement within your direction. We may decline requests that are inappropriate for the audience or that conflict with your do-not-play list.

Overtime

If the celebration runs past the agreed end time, we are happy to stay where venue rules allow. Overtime is billed in half-hour increments at the rate in your agreement and is payable that night or within seven days.

Venue rules and conduct

We follow venue rules, including noise curfews and load-in requirements. We reserve the right to pause or end a performance if there is a threat to our safety or equipment, or in the case of illegal or abusive behaviour; no refund is due in that situation.

Damage and liability

The client is responsible for damage to our equipment caused by guests or the venue. Our liability for any claim connected to a booking is limited to the fees paid for that booking.

Things beyond anyone’s control

Severe weather, illness, accidents, venue closure or similar events can make a performance impossible. If we cannot perform, we will do everything reasonable to provide a comparable professional DJ. If no replacement is possible, every payment you have made is refunded in full, and that refund is the full extent of our liability.

Photos and promotion

We sometimes photograph our setup and the dance floor for our portfolio and social media. If you would rather not appear, tell us and we will respect it — no questions asked.

Agreement and governing law

These terms, together with your signed booking agreement, are the whole arrangement between us. They are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
